Seller pricing example
Example: $20 product cost, $5 shipping, $1 other fixed cost, $0.30 fixed fee, 15% marketplace fee, 2.9% payment fee and a 25% target profit margin.
$26.30 ÷ (1 − 0.179 − 0.25) = $46.06
At that price, profit is about $11.51 per order, which is 25% of the selling price.
Margin vs markup
A 25% profit margin does not mean a 25% markup. Margin divides profit by the selling price, while markup compares added profit with a cost base. Use the calculation mode that matches how you actually price products.
