E-commerce Profit Calculator
Estimate profit per order after product cost, platform fees, payment processing, shipping, advertising and other variable costs.
E-commerce profit example
Example: $50 selling price, $20 product cost, 15% marketplace fee, 2.9% payment fee plus $0.30 fixed fee, $5 shipping, $3 advertising and $1 other cost.
That is a 23.5% profit margin before fixed business overhead and taxes.
What costs should sellers include?
Include costs that change with each order: product cost, marketplace commissions, payment processing, fulfillment, shipping, packaging, ad spend attributable to the order, returns allowance and other variable costs. Fixed overhead such as software, rent and salaries may need a separate allocation if you want full business profitability.
E-commerce profit FAQ
What is profit margin?
Profit margin is profit divided by selling price. It shows how much of each sales dollar remains after the costs included in the calculation.
What is break-even selling price?
It is the selling price at which revenue equals the entered variable costs and percentage fees, leaving zero profit per order.
Does this include taxes?
No. Sales taxes, VAT/GST, income tax and marketplace tax handling vary by jurisdiction and are intentionally excluded from this general seller calculator.
