Why MetricFigure asks for product R-value or RSI
Insulation materials do not all provide the same thermal resistance per unit thickness. Rather than assume one generic value, this calculator uses the performance number for the product you enter.
Package coverage
Batts, rolls and other packaged insulation products list their coverage on the package. Enter that coverage and MetricFigure will round up to the number of whole packages required.
